MDA develops defence and security information systems that represent
the nerve centre of the military operational chain of command. These systems,
called C4ISR (command, control, communication, computer Intelligence, surveillance,
reconnaissance), fuse many different static and dynamic data sources
into comprehensive, obtainable information used for real-time decision making
in the field.
Examples of MDA's work in this area include: an operational system delivered to the Canadian military that allows military personnel to securely create, send and receive messages around the world; computer-based simulation software for naval combat training that providing a safe and effective alternative to traditional field exercises; and an advanced imaging sonar and automated mine detection system, which is recognised as one of the most advanced of its kind in the world.
Public safety relies on effective collection, management and distribution of information. Our experience in real-time databases, secure wireless networks, and dedicated Internet infrastructures forms the basis for police information solutions on local, regional and national levels. Today, local and regional police are using our police records system to file and retrieve critical information from fixed and mobile workstations.
MDA defence and public safety systems ensure security and operational readiness with comprehensive support programs that include training, testing, simulation, maintenance, and support.
For many years MDA has supported aviation agencies around the world with aeronautical information and flight planning solutions.
Our solutions include extensive experience with the development and maintenance of information associated with airport terminal approach procedures, for military as well as civilian applications.
